6.1. Create and Print a USPS 1583 Form

To create and print a USPS 1583 form using the BoxMinder software you will need to first activate this option in the System Setup screen.

To perform this task, run the application.  Click on the Setup menu, then System Options.  Here is the Setup Options screen with the option you need to place a check mark next to to activate it.

After this is completed, your system is not activated to use and print USPS 1583 forms. 

To create one and print for your customer, you must first assign a Mailbox to the customer using the Mailbox Maintenance screen.

After you have completed entering the information about the customer assigned to the mailbox, you can click on the button that states - USPS Form 1583 as shown.

By clicking the button, you will be taken to the USPS Form 1583 screen with some of the information automatically filled in with your stores information along with the customer information as shown.

You will need to key in or change whatever information is also needed for the completed form to be ready for printing.  When all the information is keyed in, you can then click on the Print button to print the form for submittal to the USPS.  Here is what the printed output will look like, with your data and the customer data filled in accordingly.

It is that easy.  Also, this information will stay in the system in the event you need to re-print if something changes.  Just follow the same process on the Mailbox Maintenance screen for the customer and you will be able to change and re-print.
